Also please remember that Rosa's Ecolodge is not a Hotel an such, but we are a Local Tour Operator which Owns Accommodation Facilities. We sell Tours/Safaris and do not sell rooms (like other hotels) as an objective of our business. In Europe we are called a Boutique Hotel, rare in Indonesia.

Therefore, we focus on guests who are undertaking Tours/Safaris with us.

Visitors staying with us must take at least Two Tours/Safaris, which are "Snorkeling" and the "Village Tour" or any other Tour. Visitors that only want a place "to rest" and do not take a Tour with us, have a second priority.

This may mean that during the High Season they will be put on the "Waiting list".

A Free Program is only possible after that the two compulsory Tours have been completed.

Rosa’s Ecolodge is located on the fringes of Baluran National Park in the traditional Madurese village of Sumberwaru in the Situbondo Regency, East Java (see under Transportation).

The area, with the Baluran mountain as a back-drop, has a nice and romantic atmosphere with rice paddies, clusters of waving bamboo, coconut trees, cows and goats.

Traditional cow carts move slowly through the landscape. Sumberwaru is still untouched by tourism and the people are very friendly  and helpful. The big majority of them are Madurese, the ethnic group of the island of Madura to the north.

In front of each bungalow is a private verandah, facing the colorful garden. The atmosphere of Rosa’s Ecolodge convey a feeling of past times, so called “Tempo Doeloe”.

Rosa's Ecolodge also has a small hideaway in the rice fields. Here we often spend lazy afternoons drinking tea and rest tired legs after excursions in the national park.
