It is very easy to reach Rosa’s Ecolodge. We are located a few hundred meters off the main road between Bali, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.
By own vehicle: When coming from Yogyakarta, Surabaya or Bromo, pass through the town of Situbondo and look out for the village Sumberwaru. It is the last village before Baluran National Park. Here the road makes a sharp turn to the right and enters a teakwood forest. In this bend is a village road to the left (north). Follow this road a couple of hundred meters and you have arrived.
When coming from the Ferry from Bali or from Banyuwangi the road follows the coast, passes outside the main gates to Baluran National Park and continues through a teakwood forest. When you come out of the forest the road turns sharply to the left. After this bend make a U-turn and take the village road to the north and the coast.
By public bus: When coming from any place in Java, for example Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Bali, get off the bus in Sumberwaru. Tell the bus driver to let you off at the Marine Training Centre (Puslatpur Marinir). It is easy to recognize the place, as it has two cannons in front. About 400 m east the road makes a sharp bend to the right and enters a teak forest. Coming from the west, the small town Asembagus is 12 km before Sumberwaru. Coming from the south, Sumberwaro is the first village after the teak forest.
From the main road to Rosa’s Ecolodge it is 400m. Either walk, take a becak (pedicab), a horse cart, or a motorcycle taxi. Maybe even a cow cart! You will for sure not get lost. Rosa’s Ecolodge has a small sign board at the main road.
